Wasp and hornet Prevention
Wasp & Hornet Control
Wasps and hornets can make it uncomfortable to enjoy your yard or enter your home or business. When a nest is close to people, pets, or frequently used areas, Battle Born Pest Control can assess the situation and recommend a practical treatment plan.
Our approach focuses on identifying the insect, locating the nest, and providing targeted treatment when appropriate. We also offer guidance to help reduce future nesting around your property.

Wasps, Hornets & Bees
Not every flying insect is the same. Knowing what you’re seeing can help you understand where it may nest and what to do next.
Yellowjackets
Yellowjackets are social wasps often recognized by their black and yellow markings. They can become defensive when their nest is disturbed.
Where to look
Depending on the species, nests may be underground or inside sheltered spaces such as wall voids and other cavities.
What to watch for
Wasps repeatedly flying in and out of the same opening can be a sign of a nearby nest.
Bald-Faced Hornets
Bald-faced hornets have distinctive black and white markings and build enclosed, papery nests. They can aggressively defend a nest when threatened.
Where to look
Their nests may be attached to trees, shrubs, building eaves, or other elevated structures.
What to watch for
Look for a large, enclosed gray paper nest with hornets flying to and from an entrance.
Paper Wasps
Paper wasps have slender bodies and long legs. They build open, umbrella-shaped nests and may sting if the nest is disturbed.
Where to look
Check sheltered places such as eaves, porch ceilings, railings, sheds, and other protected areas.
What to watch for
Their nests have visible open cells and are often attached by a single stalk.
Bees
Bees are important pollinators, and many look different from wasps. Identifying what you’re seeing is an important first step.
Where to look
Bees may be seen visiting flowers, while nesting locations vary depending on the species.
What to watch for
Bees often appear hairier than wasps. A cluster or swarm of bees calls for a different approach than a wasp nest.

Our Approach
A Clear Plan for Control

Nest Inspection
We look for wasp and hornet activity around your property and identify the location of the nest. We also consider its proximity to doors, walkways, play areas, and other places where people or pets may encounter it.

Targeted Control
Once we’ve assessed the situation, we use a treatment approach suited to the insect and nest location. Our goal is to address the active nest while taking care around your home or business.

Prevention Guidance
We’ll point out areas around your property where wasps may build nests and share practical recommendations to help reduce future activity. Regular monitoring can help catch new nests before they grow.
